Our story

About BeatGrow

BeatGrow was founded in 2023 by a small team of electronic music heads who were tired of watching great records disappear into Spotify's algorithm with zero human ears on them. We built the platform we wished existed when we were releasing our own tracks: a straightforward way to get a record in front of curators who actually run playlists in house, techno, trance, drum & bass and the wider bass music world.

Our mission

Electronic music is one of the most fragmented genres on Spotify — dozens of sub-scenes, each with its own dedicated playlists and passionate listeners. Most of those playlists are run by independent curators, not major labels or big media companies. Our mission is to make it easy for artists, no matter how small their following, to reach those curators directly and get honest feedback on their music.

We do not sell fake streams, bots, or guaranteed placements. What we sell is access: a fast, transparent way to submit a track, have it reviewed by real people who run real playlists, and get added when the music genuinely fits. Every campaign on BeatGrow runs within Spotify's own rules for playlist curator engagement, because a promotion platform that gets artists' accounts flagged is not actually helping anyone.

Since launching, we've worked with thousands of independent artists and labels across house, tech house, progressive house, melodic techno, trance, drum & bass, dubstep, and beyond. We've paid out to hundreds of curators for the reviews and placements they've contributed, and we keep refining our matching so that the tracks landing in a curator's inbox are ones they're actually likely to enjoy.

How our curator network is built

Every curator that joins BeatGrow goes through a vetting process before they can receive submissions. We look at the age and consistency of their playlist, the size and geographic spread of their following, listener engagement (saves, skip rate, completion rate where available), and whether their follower growth looks organic rather than purchased. Curators whose metrics suggest artificial activity — bought followers, playlist farms, bot streaming — are rejected during onboarding or removed later if the pattern shows up after the fact.

Curators are compensated for the time they spend listening to submissions and writing genuine, specific feedback — never for adding a track to their playlist. That distinction matters: it keeps the incentive on honest listening rather than automatic adds, and it's what keeps the whole system compliant with Spotify's guidelines around paid playlist placement. Curators who add a track do so because they want it on their playlist, not because they were paid to put it there.

We re-review curators periodically, dropping accounts that no longer meet our bar and recruiting new ones as electronic sub-genres and regional scenes evolve. The result is a network that changes and grows with the music rather than staying frozen at whatever it looked like when we started.
